I agree with TheSithAxis. Fable ROCKS!

  • griffthekid

What are destructoid on giving it 5.5 and calling it mediocre, bet theyre just a bunch of fifa playing idiots >:(

    • Myths Lord

lol, I agree. How can you give Fable anything below an 8 (at least)? It’s just wrong.

    • ScousaJ

Every one is entitled to their own opinion…. Even if its wrong… horribly wrong!

    • Myths Lord

Yeah, just saying. How can U not love Fable?

    • Noctus

Yeah, but all the points were completely valid. So they’re not idiots, are they?

  • Daemon300

Fable 3 is a little different from Fable 1/2 but all is better.
I dont no how long till the game ends because I spent around 5 hours non-stop and I am already queen. But I love the little clips and the creativity!!! very unique from any game I have ever played! GOOD JOB PETER! =]

  • Myths Lord

All that Destructoid do is complain. Can’t they just stop being so negative and look at the positive side of Fable 3 just once? I myself don’t have Fable 3 yet (I’m from the UK) and unfortunately, the game is going to be a Christmas present so I’ll just have to wait, but from what I’ve heard Fable 3 sounds really interesting. Also, some of the things the review make out to be really actually sound alright.

    • Myths Lord

the last sentence is supposed to say: Also, some of the things the review make out to be really bad actually sound alright.

    • Noctus

They /did/ look at the positive side. Did you even read the review?

    • Myths Lord

yep but they hardly noted any positive things. The negatives outweigh the positives by far.

  • Degrada

I actually agree with destructoid. I bought Fable 3 and had high hopes for it, but i thought it was a let down.
I absolutely hate the guild point system, instead of getting general and skill specific orbs. With the old orb system you could personalize your characters skill and make them more unique. There used to be 3 categories with lots of things to upgrade in each category. Now all there is is melee, magic, and firearms, with no option of choosing if you want more HP, or a new fire arm method (Ex. the accuracy level up in Fable 2.) and so on. There is only like 3 or so different magic spells you can cast now, its like wtf is that.

Along with the reduced variety of skill and the change of orb sytem, the whole game was taken down a notch. Wtf is with this BS that you have to go to a sanctuary EVERY time you want to change your clothes, get a tattoo, find quests and so on. Its extremely annoying.

Honestly i didn’t even like the story line. You overthrow your brother with 5 minutes of fighting in the streets against a few soldiers. I was anticipating a glorified battle between brother and brother but when you finally reach him all he does is surrender.

And the same goes with the shadow attack on Albion after you become king. When it happens its only a few minutes of fighting around 3 different types of shadow monsters, with hardly any differences from one another. The only interesting part of being king was trying to get enough funds for your treasury but at the same time not becoming corrupt. The rest was gay. I have lots more to complain about relating to bugs and glitches, not enough armours, reduced amount of stores and interractions but i won’t bother posting it because i think its in the other review for the most part.

Don’t get me wrong, i absolutely LOVE Fable. Fable 1 and 2 was my shiiiit, i loved everything from the story to the weapons and I expected the third release to take the series to another level, but it seems to me they took a step back.

    • logan

Dude you got some serious issues. They took the 2d GUI, threw it all away and started over again. The spells are more unique, you actually get to do more things in Fable 3 than in Fable 2. But your right about the brother against brother thing. That was a load of crap.

    • doucet

Heres whats what. first off, Logan, your and idiot. STFU. the last two games, 2 and 3, are BOTH a F!@#$%^& disgrace compared to the first game. They will never amount to the perfection that was achieved with the lost chapters. Plain and simple. On the most part, I agree with dagrada, except for the liking fable two bit… There is NO originality in the last two games whatsoever, and it has NO naustalgic appeal, which was exactly what made fable, the lost chapters, so damn awesome. Before fable 3 came out, I thought fable two was an accident… turns out I was wrong. Fable 1 was the accident. Lionhead studios made a one hit wonder, plain and simple. There are too many small points I can pick on about 2 and 3 for how crappy they are. TOO MANY. These last two games broke my heart. you should both be completely ashamed to call yourselves fable fans if you in any way compare the second or third game to the first. And just for the record, HALLOW MEN IS A GAY NAME, one teeny tiny reason why 2 and 3 were horrible. They should have kept undead from 1. DITCH THE STUPID DOG… go backwards a good 500 years, where fable SHOULD take place. Rebuild the Guild for gods sake, THAT is a HUGE reason why the second and third sucked a$$. The guild MADE the whole damn franchise. I have still yet to understand what in gods name was going through the developers head when they thought, “oh, gee, lets destroy the guild. Everyone will love that.” I could rant about a whole bunch of reason’s why fable 1 was awesome and the other two sucked. I’m not though cause It’s late, and I need to go to bed.

    • Myths Lord

Dude, take a chill pill. It’s only a game, nothing to get angry about. If you don’t like Fable 2 & 3 then just don’t play them. They got rid of the hero’s guild to make it more believable (it is 500 years later) and to make the storyline and gameplay less repetitive. Think about it, if the hero’s guild was in Fable 2 don’t you think it would seem a little boring after a while? Anyway, they can’t make it the same as Fable TLC, where would the variety be in that? I personally agree with Logan.

    • Marshall

I totally agree with Degrada, this game was a total step backwards!I loved the sanctuary,I thought that was good to have all your items in one location, but when I buy an outfit why do i have to go there to put it on? or to apply my tatoo or change my spell? The characters in the game are too generic, they all look the same and have no real personality. And the cities, there are really not many places to adventure, the game is broken up into Aurora,Bowerstone some other little small village and a bunch of camps,WTF,where is Knotthole,Oakvale or any other city but Bowerstone. In 500 years were to except that no other settlment has built up,just bowerstone and all the other towns magically disappeared. The story was way to short,I beat this game in 8 hours start to finsh, broken up into 4 hours stints over 2 days and then wondered what to hell to do then?Do I explore Aurora or Bowerstone for the millionth time and hope I missed something?Even being king didnt help, after the first 4 or 5 choices that you make, the final battle take place(if thats what you call it) and then your treasury is empty and that dude Hopps or Hobbs or whatever his name is? he dissapears and the kingdom decides to run itself and just let you chill out with your wife(who is white)and your two little black sons.I loved FABLE 1 and 2,even though 2 was clichy, but this game is a total step back,I can just hope they come out with some really good DLC content or I find 80$ to replace the 80 I spent on this game, until then Ill be in the Brothel, while my kids from my divorce chill outside in the new orphanage,Like how could I stay married to a women who obviously cheated on me with a black man?

    • Jessraven2

I agree. Fable 3 was so crappy I took it back to Gamestop and told them that it wouldn’t read the disk. They asked me if I wanted to exchange it for a different copy and I said no. He gave me back my 65 bucks and I walked over to the bins and bought Fable 2 for 12.99. Fable 2 is SOOO much better. I think they really just threw some crap together and put it on the shelves. No orbs, no lighting of the characters when you point at them, no crowd love, no evil or good points no NOTHING!!!! I beat this game in 3 days. So freakin dissapointed. Fable 3 should have been improvements on Fable 2, such as better weapons, more advanced interactions with people, a better dog, more options.. (My dog didnt even change colors!!!)
But instead we have stupidly retarded battles that my three year old could do and ooohh we’re the king, who cares?
      Not me!

    • Alex

I actually agree with doucet. the first fable was dynamic in how it held it’s own beauty and was completely free. you could take it anywhere you wanted to go and the game would adapt itself to that. as you went through it, you could progressively expect harder and harder enemies as well as weapons that seemed virtually impossible to obtain at an earlier time in the game. Also, If you’re a king… Wouldn’t you want a GREATSWORD?! the freaking Obsidian Greatsword from Fable 1 is still by far the most fantabulous thing ever invented. It’s price was just right, it’s power was amazing and you could use it all the way until you had enough money for a Solus And then cleave some bit@hes in half! Also, the fact that 500 years passed between fable 1 and 2? how the hell did so little happen in 500 years in comparison to the massive change in 50? Sure the guild is gone but what else happened? Twinblades camp became a city, Oakvale was overrun by that council of age leeches, Knothole Glade became Knothole Island, and bowerstone grew. What about the 50 after that? well bloodstone vanished, without a trace, Knothole glade apparently never existed, the area isn’t even on the map and Bowerstone grew and took over the world W T F? too much changed in just 50 short years in comparison to the 500 that took place between 1 and 2. Also, I really want My skorm bow back… I miss that red plate…

  • Tra

im afraid Destructoid was just being honest, the scored could’ve been a bit higher but the reviewer was frustrated and disappointed (rightfully so), i feel the same way about this 3rd addition to the series.

  • Olivia Martin

I think fable three has no variety for clothes and hair.

    • Olivia Martin

I HATE how in fable 3 when you are a female hero, whenever you interact with someone you tower over them like your 4587628672 feet tall! Sure its okay if you are a male cause it’s better to be taller. But when you are a woman????? It’s just stupid and unreal! And where is all the good hair styles, makeup, and clothes? They are all ugly and make you look like a wanabe. But the clothes were alittle better than the other stuff. I also don’t like how short the campaign is. I finished it in like two days….. What am I to do now????? I wish the creator would have the woman perspecitve more in veiw as well as the men’s

  • Demom

ok so i give it a 3/10 does that make me an idiot. i give it that cause i am rather far in the money making aspect of the game, i own just about every building and shop in each town. Im about halfway through the guest line, till i go to Revers mansion, go to spin the wheel and nothing happens. No door opens no monsters appear. Nothing. So i try to reload, nothing changes. Then i deside to look up some revues on Revers mansion and i find out the is a glitch in it and that i would have to restart my game. Not cool. Not at all Someone from LH needs to fix it, consedering how long that has been a glitch

Thanks for writing such an easy-to-understand acritle on this topic.

What i actually think they should do is backtrack to between the first and second fable and have a hero around the time of the fall of the guild… cause honestly idk what can they do next. Fable 3 was kinda a bust for me. i mean they took out alot of variety of weapons. armor. etc. every weapon was legendary.. and the game was to short without Xbox live. I beat all the quests in like 6 hours..

  • TrueRoleplayG-111

I sorta agree with destructiod but only out of a bit of a let down. I kinda thought there would be more to the game and control than what the final product was. But I do adore the plot and journy your char goes with his/her desicions. I give it a 7 out of 10.

  • Choy

i like fable 3 i would give it a 9/10 but it is just so unpolished with all the bugs. i don’t blame destructoid for giving it a 5.5 but its too harsh. SO i would give it a 7/10. Decent
