A bit unconventional statment but….Walt Disney had an extraordinary talent for bringing magic into his films even though they were directed toward children. Maybe if you could capture what he had, what the original fable had, then you could capture your audience in a more magical or rather mystical sensation. Similar to what the painting above reflects.
